Secondary Radar mode S

Indra’s fourth generation of secondary radars:

   • Integrates independent ADS-B reception capabilities and implements a SMART integration of radar and ADS-B information to improve the comprehensive performance of the system (cone of silence reduction, tracking improvement, reflection removal process, II/SI conflicts detection and mitigation, passive acquisition of targets…)

   • Avoids intermediate frequencies (improving signal quality and, consequently, performance in far range or low elevations) thanks to its fully digital receiver operating directly in 1090 MHZ

   • Compliant with the most demanding requirements set by EUROCONTROL in the latest releases of specs, and it is also aligned with ICAO requirements

   • Achieves a range of 256 NM working in enhanced Mode S with 15 rpm (4 sec/scan)

   • Operates standalone or co-mounted with primary radar

   • Ensures complete and intuitive control and monitoring  —from local and remote positions— thanks to a powerful and reliable web-based Human Machine Interface (HMI)

   • Offers flexibility and versatility in terms of communications, interrogation patterns, adaptations, etc., to suit client needs

Transportable Radar Station

Indra's Transportable MSSR mode S radar is the best solution for situations that require the rapid installation of a surveillance radar.

Features:

A radar system plus a transportable solution that allows transportation, deployment and dismantling the station easily in just a few hours. 

• Housed in two standard 20-feet ISO containers it can be transported to its final location without requiring the use of a crane for its deployment.

It can be used as an emergency backup system or for longer periods complying with the requirements defined for the safety of air traffic management.

Shelter includes diesel generator, UPS, communications, lightning protection system.

Fully unmanned when deployed, it is controlled and monitored from a remote location.

The main elements of the solution are:

        ◦ MSSR standalone: Transportable shelter (for radar electronics and energy equipment) and a 12 meter deployable tower, which ensures the system provides a proper coverage of the airspace.

        ◦ PSR-MSSR: Transportable shelter (for radar electronics and energy equipment) and platform for antennas, spine and drive unit.
